CPD INFORMATION (incl. ongoing support)

Childcare professionals working in day nurseries, school or sure start have the opportunity to meet yearly with a mentor to have time to plan their career. They set goals, plan training opportunities as well as look back over the year and reflect on their strengths and weaknesses. It is an opportunity to improve skills, debrief on tricky situations and sound off on problems. We have the skills to help you keep moving your career forward and we will give you the opportunity to do this.

These development meeting can take place once a year (or more if you feel you need it) and will help you to feel supported. We can also get feedback from your employer and discuss with them any training they would like you to do.

We have three courses already in the diary as regulars and more to follow so watch this space. We want our agency to be a two-way street and so if you have any skills you would like to offer as training or if there is any training you would love to have, please get in touch and we will see what we can do. See Training Course Diary here.

Watch this space for a very exciting day, just for nannies, in a beautiful setting, with special treats for all you hard working professionals.

These are regular evenings out, team building days, and trips especially for nannies without their charges. We will have a full programme of events happening throughout the year, which will give you the opportunity to meet new friends, learn new skills and share the highs and lows of life as a nanny with like-minded people.

The Nanny Club Facebook page is a place for all the nannies on our agency books to chat, share and learn. Please find us on Facebook and join the chin wag.

Training is an area that Nanny&Co will be focussing on heavily, to develop a programme for Continued Professional Development for Nannies, so please keep an eye on this page and also our Facebook page for the latest courses that are available.

Nanny&Co is proud to be associated with Younique Postnatal who are a team of highly-trainined experts delivering courses and workshops that focus purely on postnatal doula skills - preparation rather than training.

"Younique Postnatal is a Doula UK accredited course provider set up by experienced postnatal doulas Sally-Anne Holman, Victoria Greenly and Naomi Kemeny.  We are passionate about supporting families after a birth - and want to share our experiences with other women who would like to explore what it means to be a postnatal doula.
The postnatal doula movement is growing in the UK and we hope you will become part of it!  We believe the support we give can have a positive and profound effect on families for years after their baby is born.
Supporting families after a baby’s birth can be a subtle and complex path.  With cuts in midwifery services and a society where families are not always close, the need for postnatal doulas is greater than ever.

Our aim is to provide excellent courses and workshops in initiating and developing postnatal doula skills.  We don't offer formal training but but a grounding in the preparation and reflection required to be a postnatal doula. We offer four courses year round in venues across the UK:

Initial Doula Preparation Course - 3 days  - September 25th to 27th (inclusive) in Sale, Cheshire - £325
Twins and More Workshop - 1 day (26 September)
Understanding Newborns - 1 day (27 September)

Workshops cost £60 for the day or £50 if you book in conjunction with a Twins and More Workshop (ie £100 for both)£60 for the day or £50 if you book in conjunction with a Twins and More Workshop (ie £100 for both)
Our courses are based on lively and interactive learning, with visual aids, group work, hands on experience and practice exercises.  The topics we cover highlight evidence based information, current guidelines and new areas of research in postnatal care.  We also offer support after your course is over, an extensive manual and access to a secret Facebook group of postnatal doulas."
